5:00

Shivering shadows of trees lay across the ebony shades
Warm and soft and midday
Casting cares and slivers of fears
Into the stagnent silent air
Like a breath from some small sleeping thing
It doesn't move but is ever listening
All the birds precariously perched in their ode to the sun
Do not sing but survey all that is surrounding them
The blades of green seem dull in contrast to the sky above
Lit blue behind clouds that are so full and still
This is the pause in the day for light
